Project Description

The Government of Gombe State under the leadership of His Excellency, Alh. Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON, The Governor of Gombe State, approved the construction of a reinforced concrete drainage system aimed at tackling and controlling the gully erosion at the Shehu Abubakar District in Gombe Metropolis. The project starts at the rear of the International Hotel to the area behind the commissioner of police's residence in Gombe metropolis. This drainage intervention is part of the broader urban renewal and environmental protection efforts of the Inuwa Yahaya administration. The project is designed to: 1. Control and prevent gully erosion, which poses serious threats to residential properties, roads, and public infrastructure in the area. 2. Enhance stormwater management by safely channeling runoff during the rainy season. 3. Protect lives and properties from the devastating impacts of unchecked erosion and flooding. 4. Improve sanitation and environmental health within the affected neighborhoods. The drainage is being constructed using high-quality reinforced concrete, ensuring durability and sustainability. This critical infrastructure project reflects the Governor's commitment to proactive environmental management and urban safety in Gombe State.
