Project Description

In line with its developmental objectives to improve infrastructure, enhance community safety, and promote the use of renewable energy, the Gombe State Government, under the leadership of his Excellency, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has initiated the Procurement and Installation of Solar-Powered Streetlighting System across five Local Government Areas in the State, this installation covers Kwami, Dukku, Funakaye ,Nafada,Yamaltu-Deba(Gadam Town). The development of solar streetlights is aimed at addressing the challenges of inadequate street lighting in these areas while also reducing dependence on the national power grid. The project utilizes environmentally friendly solar technology, which ensures energy efficiency, cost savings, and minimal maintenance requirements. The scope of the work includes: 1. procurement and delivery of high-efficiency solar-powered LED streetlights. 2. Installation of lighting units at designated locations across the selected LGA's. 3. Testing and commissioning of all installed units to ensure proper functionality. 4. provision of technical training for local maintenance personnel. The intervention is expected to contribute significantly to improved security, economic activities at night, and overall community well-being. It also reflects the State Governments commitment to infrastructural development, environmental sustainability, and equitable distribution of amenities across all Local Government Areas.
